ARRANGEMENT: In the first two boxes administrative files are arranged by subject, thereunder in reverse chronological order and prisoner files are arranged alphabetically by name of prisoner. In the third box these files are intermixed.

SUMMARY SCOPE NOTE: This series consists of files on the administration of Death Row, which until 1990 was at the Central Correctional Institution and since then has been at the Broad River Correctional Institution.  The files include policies and procedures concerning executions and files on individual prisoners committed to Death Row. The latter portion of the series, which may not be complete for the time period covered, includes extensive files on infamous prisoners Donald "Pee Wee" Gaskins, James T. Roach, and Joseph Carl Shaw.
