ARRANGEMENT:  The files of Director Ellis MacDougall are arranged alphabetically by subject; those of Director Michael W. Moore are arranged chronologically. with one folder of stray files of William D. Leeke at the beginning of the box.

 

RESTRICTIONS ON ACCESS:  Portions of the files of Director Ellis MacDougall are restricted to agency authorized personnel.

 

SUMMARY SCOPE NOTE:  This series consists of files of three different directors of the department.  By far the largest portion consists of subject files maintained by Director Ellis MacDougall (1962-1968).  Topics include status of inmates, production of prison industries, reports from prison facilities within the state, and financial data.  A second small segment consists of memorandums issued by and correspondence signed by Director Michael W. Moore (1995-1998).  This segment also includes a file on his appointment as director and a September 1995 status report to the Governor's office. One folder of stray files, 1980-1987, of Director William D. Leeke (1968-1987) is also present.
