ARRANGEMENT:  Series arranged in chronological order in two sequences.  The first sequence, which contains both full meeting files and minutes in some cases, has gaps.  Most of the files in the second sequence consist of minutes alone, but this run does include the meetings missing from the first sequence.

SUMMARY SCOPE NOTE:  This series consists of the commissioner's files of meeting minutes of the board of corrections.  Records dating 1958-1960 are bound volumes of minutes and monthly reports.  From 1961 forward, files generally include notices of meetings; meeting agenda, minutes, and attachments; notes on meeting issues for the commissioner prepared by his administrative assistant, and reference materials.
