SUMMARY SCOPE NOTE: This series consists of meeting minutes, reports, and memoranda relating to the relocation
of the Central Correctional Institution (CCI). Information
includes committee meeting dates, agendas, and names of
attendees. Some of the issues addressed in committee
meetings and reports include the necessity for relocation,
effects of prison overcrowding, cost projections for various relocation options, and site feasibility studies. Also
contained is a 1987 report of the CCI Relocation Task Force
to the South Carolina Budget and Control Board.
