Some documents reflect the governor's function as member or chairman ex officio of various state boards. This series also documents referrals from the governor's office to other officers and departments.

Subjects include colleges and universities, education, penal institutions, health, mental health, juvenile delinquency, labor relations, strikes, agriculture, business, industry, roads and highways, banking, the state military, state finance, game and fish, medical education, and education of mentally handicapped children.
